Heavy snowfall and freezing temperatures have shut down schools, paralysed traffic and grounded airplanes in Greece and Turkey. Athens, Greece's capital, was covered in several centimetres of snow and the outskirts were cut off due to heavy snow and ice on the roads after two days of snowfall.
